A great modern splicing tool with added reusability.

These lever nuts are more expensive than wire nuts but offer significant time savings. Because they use a clamp arm to attach to wires, they're easy to reuse and detach when needed. The process involves stripping a half-inch wire, inserting it into a connector, and clamping it in place. Connections are easy to check and adjust if necessary. They also save a lot of space in the junction box and do not require as many pigtails as other splicing methods. Great for DIYers.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

Great little unit

. The kit I received wasn't as large as 10 gauge (largest wire gauge is 12), but it makes up for this by being able to terminate all 24 gauge wire, which is difficult to terminate on standard crimp terminals. Keep in mind that they are rated for 20 amps at 300v and 32 amps at 450v. They are UL marked and have European certification (ENEC?) which I'm not familiar with. Their small size makes them useful and also allows you to connect both stranded and solid wires. For a tool-less quick…

Great new electrical product

Great Wago connector starter kit. Much used overseas but fairly new to US use. The only complaint is too many 5-wire connectors. Had to re-order 2-wire trolleys after just one order. However, I like them because they are easy to use and fit neatly in the box. I feel like they take up a lot less space and install quicker. My favorite part is that they don't damage wires like you do when you twist traditional wire nuts together with pliers. Yes, only rated for 12g/20amp max, but will work with…

Splicing/Splicing For 1 wire each

As another poster said they are good for splicing/splicing wires individually. However, they cost about 80 cents each, compared to less than 10 cents for wire nuts. I usually use them in small places and where the wires are short and not long enough to be connected in a bunch like wire nuts require. So primarily for use in special applications. One YouTuber said these connectors hold the wire with one-point sewing feet and will likely come loose over time. It is then difficult to diagnose a…

Much easier to use than wire nuts

They make wiring a lot easier. I simply strip some of the insulation, then place the wire against the gauge on the side of the nut and trim off the excess bare wire. Voila! The wire is stripped to the desired length. Just put it in the hole and click the lever. Gone is the frustration of choosing the right size wire nut, stripping the wire to the right length, and deciding whether or not to twist the wires before screwing the nut on. Two caveats. . I don't think I would trust them for heavy…

It's CRAZY cool, especially for certain purposes.

twisting together a big piece of ground wire, putting a nut on it and sliding it back into the box. Connecting five ground wires to one of these is not difficult at all! And they fold into the back of the box much easier and more efficiently than a bunch of wire nuts. You need a large capacity - connect another one with a jumper. Fast and very neat. They're great when you're remodeling and you may need to take the unit out for drywall or painting. Snap, snap, snap back. Yes. Or if you can't…

An absolute must if you only have two hands!

These Wago 221 lever nuts are simply brilliant. One of the great advantages is that they work well with thin and thin stranded wires when combined with large solid wires. Leverless wire nuts do not do this. Threaded Wire Nuts _can_, but it's tricky enough that I'm not 100% sure of the results when using Threaded Wire Nuts for anything other than just connecting 2 or 3 solid wires. Lever Nuts 221 are also great for those awkward situations where you need one hand to hold the light, two hands to…
