Works fine, wish the terminals were updated.

The only problem I have is that the old style clamps are twisted around the screw, not the new plate type. They work but are too uncomfortable for my liking, especially when working in tight spaces. The price is right too.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Requires socket

Works great with the garbage disposal

I installed this under my kitchen sink to use with the new waste chute I installed. It doesn't come with instructions or mounting screws, but I expected it to come built in. It works great and I love the fact that it's self grounding.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good outlet

Good outlet, I recently redid the wiring in my 110 year old house and have been using these outlets throughout the house except for a few GFCIs and they are well built and I expect a lifetime last long. I'm only going to use 20 amp outlets with 12 gauge wire because one of those cheap fifty cent 15 amp outlets will literally melt with a 13 amp load connected. I will never buy a $5 box of 10 sockets again.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Mixed Colors Black

Ordered 15 outlets. 2 of them were marked black but clearly brown. A few of them are mostly black but with dark gray spots. I'm a little worried that the plastic will become weak or break easily. I can hide the odd colored ones in a shed or warehouse so I don't have to replace them. The color differences are really striking compared to true black rosettes. In addition, they work perfectly.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

Get rid of dangling plugs from cheap outlets

I used them to replace outlets that were too easy to unplug. One had an electric heater plugged in, and when a bird flew near my house, the plug would fall out. Okay, I made that up, but the plugs were really loose. The end of the cable also got very hot. Both problems are gone now. The outlets that were there before were a cheap $3.49 for 10 at the big department store. You are much better. Because they are rated for 20 amps, they must be connected to 12 gauge wire, not 14 gauge wire.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Having problems

Used with extension box

I used this box as a short extension box, I bought it as it was very affordable and durable. I only plan on using it for short periods of time for currents less than 15A since the gauge I used was 4ft of 14AWG. I used a cell phone box and a cell phone box plate for this. The socket is self-grounding so you don't need to ground the pigtail to the box and socket. The yoke/tape and ground pin socket are basically connected. I checked that with my multimeter. Brass wipers hold the blades firmly…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Has flaws
