My extension cord is like new again

This fold-out replacement plug will meet your expectations. Extension 14ha. The best way I've found is to clamp it first with a small C-clip and then tighten the bolts.

For a quick fork repair

I have used them before with good results, they are easy to replace and work well. The only drawback are the hollow chambers of the fork, which can break if handled incorrectly or something heavy on the fork. I had to replace one that had most of the plastic missing around the men's blades after a 310lb man stepped on it, resulting in an electrical hazard.

Typical Leviton quality

Connector well designed and UL approved. Easily accepts 14-18 AWG wire - wire gauge is the limiting factor. The cable hole is 3/8" in diameter, but there is a 1/4" square hole inside. Also, you'll need to route the wires around the stand for the screw that holds the two halves together. All screws are color coded and appropriately sized. The overall dimensions are slightly larger than the standard extension plug.

I don't like the design

Easy to install and looks solid. I don't like the way the handle is constructed. Too wide which means someone can tug on the cord when it's not plugged in. I gave one star ease of use due to this security issue. I added heat shrink but the connector is so wide that I couldn't fit it over the connector which really only protects the bare wire and does nothing to protect the internal wiring which will take the brunt of use.

The connector is quite good quality which is a bit tricky to assemble/attach to the cable.

Pretty good quality connector which is a bit tricky to assemble/install on the cable if you do it right and tin the ends of the stranded wire and make a U-connection to bypass the cable. screws. Due to the single screw assembly, it's a bit difficult to get the wire to wrap/shape around the center "stand" that holds the two halves of the case together. However, they are good value for money.

Works well when used with an appropriately sized cable.

I installed 4 of these connectors and found them to be more than adequate for any non-commercial use. Before installing these plugs, it is advisable to strip the cable and each individual wire to the required length. Also tin the ends of the wires if using stranded wire. In my case, the diameter of the cable going into the connector was too small, so I resolved this situation by adding heat shrink tubing to allow the connector to adequately hold the cable.
