A good feeling of security

So far, so good. I reduced the stars upon installation for 2 reasons.1. The braid is short. Makes installation even more difficult for .2. USE A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN! If you're not alone, don't do it yourself! I only had to pay for an hour's work. That's right.

Pros
  • Economical surge protection for commercial and residential applications
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was

Leviton sacrificed himself for my home.

Just recently there was a power surge strong enough to blast the Leviton's cover, char it and burn out the LEDs. Everything else in the house was fine. Whether it was intentional or not, it seemed to save home electronics. Now it's time to save up to buy another one.

Pros
  • Compatible with Decora Home Controls
Cons
  • Almost everything is here

Inexpensive and worthwhile for me as a home automation enthusiast.

Easy installation for those with significant AC wiring experience. Be sure to call an electrician if you are inexperienced. I regularly check my surge protector is working to keep my home automation safe. All it takes is a cursory glance to see that the two lights are on to give me the peace of mind I've been looking for. It was worth every penny.

Pros
  • Overcurrent protection up to 26,000A in any mode
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Big investment in power strips and surge protectors

This purchase was a replacement for the one in the picture. We had a HUGE power surge due to a nearby tree falling onto the wires. This is obviously similar to the photos posted by other reviewers. This little device saved me a lot of heartache. I know this because many of my neighbors have had hundreds of electronic devices replaced in their homes, but I haven't. Ordered a replacement the next day. I don't want another incident without the protection of this thing!

Pros
  • LEDs show power and surge protector status for each phase
Cons
  • Not the best

This panel is great. I have this professionally installed on the panel. I've had it in two houses over the past few years and it has never let me down. I like the reassurance that everything plugged into the outlet is protected. Why would you rather have a chunky, standalone surge protector in each outlet when you can have a neatly installed and clean one at the outlet.

Pros
  • LEDs indicate current and surge protection status for each phase
Cons
  • Long time

ideal for reducing power surges on the accessory panel.

I like this muffler. Depending on the application, it can be surface-mounted or flush-mounted. This was used in the support panel at my house and exploded as soon as I flipped the switches it was connected to. I called Leviton customer service and they sent me a return label. Two weeks later they emailed me and said the lab had confirmed the legitimacy of my complaint and sent another silencer to my home address. Excellent customer service. Use with confidence.

Pros
  • NEMA 4X
Cons
  • Some little things

A bit tricky to install with drywall

I'm giving it four stars because it's not designed to be installed with drywall breaker boxes. I had to drill holes in the lid to install it. Its wire exit is fairly short, so the edge of the panel cover fits snugly against the cover itself. The panels have knockouts and they must be of sufficient wire entry depth to avoid 1/2 inch drywall and match the row of knockouts and long enough to reach the box inside the bezel overlap. That aside, the rest of the installation was straightforward and I…

Pros
  • Economical Commercial/Residential Surge Protector
Cons
  • Concise Instructions

I saved my stuff during a line shortage, love these things!

I installed two of these LEDs on my houseboat about 5 years ago (one for each dock cable). I've never lost a single electrical or electronic device in all that time and I live in a high lightning area in Florida -- plus the electric wharf here is patchy at best. Before installing them, I was losing computers or air conditioners with frustrating regularity. So I already love her. Yesterday the marina wiring shorted out after a week of rain sending current through the neutral and ground wires…

Pros
  • LEDs indicate power and surge protection status for each phase
Cons
  • Some errors
