Looks great and serves its purpose!

These are great for a phantom switch box. I've used bronze plates rubbed with metal oil and they look great. The only downside is the price as it's just a piece of plastic but with little to no competition it's probably well priced as it does exactly what I wanted and looks great.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

Plate screw holes too small

I had to use a 1/8" bit and drill holes for the mounting screws along with two holes in the switch cover as it would be almost impossible to tighten them without damaging the plastic. I painted the dummy switch to match my plate cover as much as possible. It generally does its job when the holes are open.

  • New
Cons

Extremely overpriced and doesn't even fit

Leviton charges an obscene sum for such a cheap piece of plastic. They do this because they know that sometimes they are needed and not available from other providers. As far as I know, this is price gouging! I will avoid Leviton products in the future if possible. To make matters worse, 2 out of 5 inserts didn't even fit on the switch plate. They were too big and broke the 4 group derailleur plate I was planning to use them with. What a waste of money!

Not great, but works

Could have been better, but it worked. The screw holes are too small and have to be reamed to fit the included screws and panel mounting screws, and the flanges, which on a traditional switch would be thin metal and bolted to the junction box, are thicker plastic, making access more difficult. it must be flush mounted and protrude the correct distance from the actual switch. I ended up just screwing it to the switch plate and didn't even try to screw it to the junction box first. In the end…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Hooray! I don't get electrocuted!

This was a good solution for a 3 gang switch, 2 toggle switches, 1 rest light we have in the bathroom. I was looking for a switch that could do this and the only one I could find in an off-white shade was $8 with $5 additional shipping. This fits in the existing 3 seat 3 toggle cover we had. The only issue I had was that the two screw holes above and below the switch cover were smaller than the screws I had. I solved this problem by using a drill to match the holes on the pad and widening the…
