Works fine for me for light sockets

works as it should for me. Leviton has been reliable to me for many years. A mid-century floor lamp that belonged to my parents, revived without changing the socket. The 150W LED does not stress the original wiring and works with a built-in dimmer, eliminating the need for a 3-way light bulb. And no double click is required to turn on or off the original switch. I've bought BB (before Bezos) a 3-way adapter like this in the past, but there aren't many 3-way bulb options these days anyway. I…

The frame is fragile and breaks easily.

The base was just what I was looking for. Revain sockets sent to replace 1st socket. Unfortunately it arrived broken in several pieces :( Even though Revain had wrapped the socket in extra bubble wrap and/or placed the socket in a protective cardboard box (instead of sending it in an envelope). The porcelain insulator in the socket remained, probably will cracking when i see how thin/tender it is just for once!

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Two important things to note: 1. The top porcelain portion of the adapter is not large enough and has little to no gripping surface if you need to unscrew the adapter from a moderately deep lamp socket. My particular lamp has a brass body that surrounds the socket and protrudes a few millimeters beyond the lamp socket. The…
