Leviton VRMX1 and GE Smart Dimmer 12724

Testing Leviton VRMX1 and GE 12724 Smart Dimmers, I found that Leviton didn't dim as low as GE. I tested both Philips 65W (9W) dimmable LED switches with Warm Glow bulbs. Results: The Leviton's minimum brightness (using the physical switch itself) was around 9-11 lumens, while the GE's brightness was reduced to 3-4 lumens using a light spectrometer. I know this may not sound like much, but the perceived difference between the two looked dramatic, where the Levitons appeared to only be about 30%

Works great with my SmartThings hub and LED lights!

I have several Leviton VRPD3-1LW Vizia RF Series zwave dimmers in my house controlled by SmartThings Home Automation Center. They are very easy to pair with the ST hub as all you have to do is plug in the module, press and hold the LED/button until it turns red and then start searching/pairing the device in the SmartThings mobile app. Once a device is found, you can name it and adjust the minimum settings available. One feature not all dimmers have is a two-way status update. I find this…

Love it. There. I said it.

This review is for the lamp dimmer module - VRPD3-1LW (because it's a multiple product list) I'm a big fan of Zwave automation - I have over 60 Zwave on my home network. These products are still quite niche, although they are becoming more widely available and discussed with people who are far fewer early adopters than I am. I use Vera Controls "Vera Plus" as my home controller and use remotes, apps, scenes and switch controls. to control this block via zwave.Ok. first important point. Not all…
