Mild steel in the band of measuring and marking tools

I bought this because of a big project I'm doing and thought the laser would be perfect for long range shots. I used this for 2 days before the tip slipped towards the 12ft measurement. The device was locked, and gravity and twisting caused the steel to permanently bend at about the 10-inch mark. If I tried to use the tape measure afterwards, it would just flex and twist at that point if I tried to go much more than 6 feet. I was able to send it back and didn't buy a new one. I just use my…

Measure accurately without judging

I installed 24 steel ducts in my garden. Halfway through the project I noticed I was off by 1/8th or 1/4th on my measurements and cuts. This caused welding problems as I had to weld a larger gap. After receiving the LEXIVON digital laser tape measure, I was able to accurately measure the distance between the two posts. I could easily get two measurements to confirm. My new tape measure for on the go

What I like best about this tape measure: - I like the AutoLock function - Tape in two colors. The top is white and listed in inches and fractions. The lower band is yellow and is given in centimeters and inches. Graphic layout is "clean", simple, easy to read (not too cluttered). The design is a nice solid tape measure. It is well made and appears to be durable. My only suggestion/change to Lexivon is to put the tape release button on the bottom of the tape. This is how I hold the measuring…
