🔝 High-Performance LEZYNE HP Hand Pump Review

Just used on a trip yesterday. This thing is SUPER tiny. The handle is small so getting to high PSI is a little painful, but that's the price you pay for being ultra-compact. I was able to get around 100psi with no problems. I had to work for it, but I expected it. I would definitely buy again.

Unfortunately I've had to use it twice lately. Worked great. I like the hose and the fact that it screws onto the valve on the hose. It's tiny and easily fits in a jersey pocket. Also included was a bottle cage screw mount which I haven't used but many road builders I ride with. I take it with me for both the mountains and the road. On the way I take C02 with me and use the pump to start or stop because I inevitably waste half a CO2 cartridge.

I've had this pump for a few months now and used it for the first time a few days ago. inflated the tire well (at least 70 psi) but got very hot. I have had other pumps for heat build up but this one seems to have handled it well. I'm afraid this can become an issue over time, but the threaded and reinforced design should help with the strain. It is so compact and functional that I am very happy with this purchase.

The small pump is perfect. I bought it because of its size. I wanted to be able to put the pump in a jersey pocket or backpack and it's easy to do. The included mounting hardware works really well and once attached you don't even realize it's there. The pump works fine. I love its thoughtful design and thoughtful features, but at first glance you'll see where the weakness of this pump lies. The air intake pipe has metal fittings at both ends, great, right? The problem is that these metal fittings screw into a PLASTIC fitting on the pump body. The thread is very thin and the thread depth for the connector is only 1/8 inch. I would be very surprised if these thin plastic threads would extend the life of the pump and its seals. I'll even come back to update this…

I'm tired of the design flaws of the famous Topeak Road Morph G, a fantastic pump with a very nasty habit of dropping the valve retaining ring and leaving you stuck with a flat tire you can't pump. So the second time this happened (and both times in the rain to compound the injury) I jumped overboard.
