🔩 LFPartS Black Stainless Steel License Plate Backing Reinforce Plate (12"x6") Review

Used as the front number plate bracket on a 2018 Highlander. The lower half of the plate was not attached by the manufacturer and could snag and bend in car washes. This solved the problem.

Front license plates are mandatory in Minnesota and the way it's fitted to my 2018 Nissan Murano left it open to constant flexing during the car wash despite a solid frame . Putting this rear number plate in the frame eliminated the crease! Very happy with the purchase.

This back is much thicker than the thin license plates we see today and not as thick as a coin. The edges are smooth and the size and location of the holes match my state license plate perfectly. It appears to be powder coated, heavier than aluminum, and proven non-magnetic (like most stainless steels). I would buy again.

Rather unimpressed. I bought it to reinforce the front number plate during an automatic car wash but as you can see in the picture it didn't do that. Granted, it seemed to work for the first couple of washes, but on one of the following washes it flexed pretty well. When I opened the package it seemed quite firm, but not firm enough. I cannot recommend this product.

Excellent construction/durability. But storage must be an issue. I have shiny on one side and smooth on the other. It's okay, but the shiny side is rough. Cardboard was stuck to it and you can see an outline of where another plate stood on top. After polishing, it's still there. If you don't see the plate, take it. If you want to look good, find something else.

Installed a bumper protector on the front of our SUV and had to remove the front number plate from the car bumper and reinstall it on top of the bumper - only 2 screws hold the top of the plate in place and nothing under or behind it . Nothing supported the back of the license plate and the license plate began to warp and lean backwards due to the wind hitting it from the front. The product description states that it is made of thick stainless steel. The term Heavy Duty without measurement or reference is meaningless. Further in the product description the thickness of the plate is 1 mm. For me, who has experience welding tractor and trailer steel, 1mm is not difficult. I measured the base plate with my welding gauge and it fits the 18 gauge slot which is .0478" or 1.214 mm. Not thin but thick enough to bend with bare hands. It's non-magnetic, so I'm assuming the…
