Works well and revived my old desktop

I recently purchased this DVD burner to reinstall Windows XP on my Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. My desktop is 9 years old and uses an IDE Interface like this DVD recorder. The choice of IDE optical drives was limited. This one looked decent. I haven't reinstalled Windows XP in almost 5 years, so my desktop didn't run smoothly; although I didn't use my desktop much at the time. LG GH22LP20 internal DVD/CDR recorder

My 16 year old Pioneer DVD recorder stopped working I think it was a burned out laser. I found and ordered this new LG internal IDE DVD/CDR recorder on Revain.com. Arrived in two days, quickly assembled. Windows XP found the drivers automatically and the driver is very quiet. Very happy with my purchase. It also has a LightScribe feature but I haven't tried it yet as I need to buy some LightScribe discs.

Very Good DVD Drives

I have purchased two of these drives and both are brand new and perfect. The seller, Power Optical, packaged them very well and they arrived in perfect condition. I bought two of these for my old Dell desktops because IDE drives are becoming scarce these days and I didn't want to mess around trying to use some sort of IDE/SATA converter to try and install a SATA drive . Worked well despite poor packaging

I needed to replace the IDE DVD burner for my Dell Dimension 9100 and didn't want to try a SATA drive with an IDE to SATA adapter so I was glad I did to find it one of the few IDE DVD recorders still available. The LG GH22LP20 got good user reviews when it went on sale so I figured it would be a safe bet. Does not write to the device. There are no drivers.

I wanted to be able to burn DVDs on my Dell desktop so based on the positive feedback I ordered this unit. Reads but does not write. The drive did not come with drivers and they are not available online. I've found and downloaded all the recommended files, but I can't use the disc as a burner. Too bad. I can't give the device a usability rating as I can't fully utilize it.

Internal IDE CD and DVD drives

IDE hardware is harder to find. Had an old PC, needed a new DVD RW drive. I didn't want to mess with the adapters I need when I buy the more common SATA drive. This is connected directly and works great. There is no software and I can't figure out how to get the Lightsriber to work. I can probably figure it out and download the drivers. I just didn't care enough to waste time.

Received my floppy disk drive this morning (lg GH22lp20), installation less than 6 minutes. the dinasaur lg drive that has been in this gateway tower since 2000! Still works after all this time! XPPRO recognized it immediately and just followed the instructions throughout the installation and download process. First League.
