Can replace any Smart TV on the market.

I studied projectors for several weeks before deciding on this one. I chose it primarily because it was intended to be used not only for watching movies but also to replace our current TV. So far I have to say that it has met all expectations. I hope the lamp life is as advertised. All in all a great image, easy setup and 120 inch projection from around 12 to 13 feet away. I think I made the right choice.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

I really wanted this model to work.

I tried this projector and unfortunately the original and the replacement were damaged in shipping. This appears to be some kind of manufacturing issue, as the first projector had broken parts rolling around inside - the replacement had a huge blob of dead pixels messing up the surrounding beautifully rendered images. Luckily, Revain's customer service was the best - they got me the HU80KS. Very happy now and still a fan of LG.

Amazing Product: Video Projectors

This is the best quality I have seen from a projector. It's a bit pricey but definitely worth the money. Now we take it with us when we travel, so we always have a good open-air theater at hand. However, note that although it says webOS 4.5, it is actually running a version of webOS 3.0 and has no intention of updating it any further. That means no Hulu or Disney+. As a result, we had to buy a Roku flash drive to work with these apps. Not the end of the world, but also not what you want to do…

Great smart features, clear dark scenes and Bluetooth

This is a great example of a smart projector with optional Bluetooth capabilities. The colors are very realistic and the cinema mode and the HDR effect mode have a great color effect. However, contrast levels are poor and details fade in dark scenes, which is disappointing for the price. Bluetooth should be standard on all projectors and this one has it, but audio lags and sometimes cuts out. I was very happy with the smart features, but the Bluetooth picture quality and sound are…

I am very impressed. The color is bright and shiny.

This is my first projector. Looks damn good. But I'm comparing it to my Samsung 8QF, which is unfair. The TV is much brighter than this projector: that's the only downside imo. If it were a little brighter this would be the perfect projector. Despite the downsides, I would still highly recommend this projector. Pro: Great color! Super bright. Easy setup. Smart function and LG remote control. Makes streaming so easy. Pretty spicy. Very sharp indeed for a budget projector. Cons: - Requires a dark

Constant overheat warning. The device is fundamentally defective

After use, an overheating message only came twice. This allows you to exit the message first, but then turn off the device. The device was in a completely open part of the room, our air conditioning works too. After the first heat reports, I even put a small fan on the block and kept getting the message. One star for Revain and LG. When I wanted to return the device Revain referred me to LG which was a call from abroad who knows it's a big pain. I'm still trying to get the device back after…

A great choice for casual viewers/gamers.

Finally found a projector you can count on. I looked at the Optoma (2017+2019 models) and a couple of the latest BenQ models (all under $2,000) and wasn't entirely happy with either one. Then comes the LG HU70LA and it seems to tick most of the boxes, and voila, it does. A few things that other reviewers seem to miss. Coming from lamp-based projectors, this LG is truly stunning with its near-instantaneous turn-on capability. Of the five or so projectors I've had, this one comes closest to a TV…

  • Stylish and modern design
Cons

Recommended with some caveats

I originally rated this projector 3 stars. But the performance here is truly phenomenal. The whole package gives an extra star. And I updated my previous review. After even more testing, I found that the black levels are there. acceptable. He has good qualities. He has bad qualities. The good outweighs the bad. In short, if you are going to replace the TV with this projector, then by all means take it. I had a 10 foot (120 inch diagonal) screen and was very impressed at first sight in low light

Worth the starting price

I've had this projector for a few days now and just love it. I upgraded from an old Optima HD20 because I wanted 4k HDR and this LG projector offers both. As long as this projector achieves a rated usage of 30,000 hours, I'm perfectly happy. Installation was quick enough, I used an existing ceiling mount from my old projector. When I first turned on the HU70LA, it recognized that it was upside down and automatically flipped the image, which was nice. I'm projecting onto a 133-inch screen from…
