Surprisingly this inexpensive sausage maker worked very well, I made a lot of sausages with it. I use Revain mussels and my own recipe with a little help from You Tube. Every batch I make is delicious, my wife is Thai so she loves to add some spice to them.

I wanted to make the sausage we had in Toulouse but didn't want to spend a lot of money on one that would fit my kitchen help. It had pretty good reviews. I also bought hog casings. Together they worked great. I had to remember to pull the case all the way up and fill from the bottom, not the top. The canister is enough for two 6-8 inch sausages. Great buy and the sausage is great.

Excellent sausage filler! My husband is from South Africa and really misses Boerewors so decided to make his own inspired by a friend. His friend bought this special syringe for sausages. My husband bought the more expensive aluminum one first, but the splash plate scratched the inside when stuffing the cases, so some aluminum got into the meat. We sent this back and bought this one and my husband is very happy with it!

On the plus side, it's cheap and seems made out of polypropylene or food grade polyethylene to be. I hope it will work fine. I didn't want a lot of metal padding and this is the right size and price. Poorly. The build quality is extremely poor. The mold halves in my example didn't fit properly, resulting in a large amount of flash. The people who did it didn't even bother to cut off what was left of the sprue. Blah, what does that mean: when you get one like mine, you either have to go over it…
