Easy to install rim for existing sign

Kids in my area saved the sign but the rim snapped off. This interchangeable rim easily fits onto the backboard and kids have a place to play basketball again. The price was very reasonable and shipping was fast.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Updates

THE DEVICE Broke on the first day of use

This item cannot be called "Infinite Basketball Headband" because it broke after 1 hour of use. We didn't have to use the chain net, but when we switched to a regular nylon net the hook broke anyway. The fortifications are too flimsy and weak. Throw it away!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Some flaws

Great replacement disk!

Our tire slipped and bent the rim in our crazy and strong Reno HB winds, even when we had a water-filled base - it happens, maybe we'll tie next time - live and to learn. This replacement is of a very high quality and what is even better, it is very easy to install. I would buy again and definitely recommend. Great price and fast delivery.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • So far so good

Keep Your Old Hardware

Do yourself a favor and purchase a 1/2" ratchet wrench for this setup. The location of the bottom nuts is almost impossible to tighten on most models. These bolts can be tightened due to the rubber bumpers don't have to be front tightened which causes them to compress. The supplied U-bolt is longer than the original and can't be tightened enough so I was glad I kept the original.Overall this is a solid replacement.

High quality basic basketball hoop

Very good hoop. The only downside for my use was that it was bought to replace a rim on a portable tire where inclement weather blew forward and the previous rim broke. The mounting brackets and hardware for this rim will not work with our current Lifetime wearable tires/shields. Tear-off parts removed and bolted on permanently instead. It's a tire (nothing really special) and serves its purpose, although it's good to know that it's not intended to replace a tire in their own portable systems.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black

Note which Lifetime Shield you have

This rim fits mine but I had to use the existing U-bolt as the one that came with the rim was for a different Shield. Luckily all the holes matched. Get ready for a long project. There is so little space to attach wrenches to nuts and bolts that replacing them takes forever. It really sucked doing the U-bolt twice. I should have taken care of that before I started. All this to say that we are happy with the new rim. It's hard to tell if it will last, but it's great to have a new one now.

  • Weight

Broke after 3 months

First the rim arrived with no fittings or grille, just the rim. I called Lifetime and they sent me the necessary equipment and network. And now, after 3 months of operation, the rim broke in the place where the V-shaped support under the rim was welded to the bracket. Here the last one broke and required a rim change. It's not the weld that breaks, it's the weld that breaks off the bracket. I'll look into other rim options, although the bolt holes will need to be changed to get the correct…

  • Few competitors
