Works great so far

Works great after 2 months. It's a little tricky to get a bolt on each side - mainly due to the need for a special sprocket - but I was able to gently tighten them with pliers and lots of gentle but strong elbow grease.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Reliability

Tighten Parts Before Installation

Requires a bit of assembly and I had to remove and tighten parts when I realized this required more attention than usual. But! They worked as expected. Unlike the original, you need to assemble some parts and make sure they are tight.

Pros
  • Pretty Package
Cons
  • Ugly Package

Keep the tailgate open effortlessly.

These tailgate stays keep our minivan's tailgate open well. The old ones leaked and you had to hold the door open with your hand or it would fall down and hit you in the head. It now stays open all day if I want and they were easy to install.

Pros
  • One year trial period
Cons
  • Frequency

Auto/Truck Struts - Replacement Parts

My husband ordered these for his sister's van and with the help of a neighbor who lifted her sunroof they installed these struts easily. the daughter-in-law is delighted that her tailgate now stays open when the body is loaded. Would recommend this to others but you may need 2 pairs of hands to install.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

They fit and worked well.

What did I use this product for? This is a "Dodge Grand Caravan Liftgate Gas Strut" - what do you think I'll use it for? And I have no idea what you think of "stretch" in this context, so I have no idea how to rate it - OK I guess. In any case, they worked well and were very cheap.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No

Quick and not too heavy if you have the right tools

They were perfect for restoring full functionality to the rear sunroof of a 2005 Dodge Caravan. Removal and installation can be made easier if you actually open the tailgate as wide as possible, one side at a time. Otherwise, the spring force on the chuck will prevent the threads of the drive bolt from engaging. And make sure you have a #10 torx wrench before you start, or you'll quickly become frustrated.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
