Reviews that it melts I should have guessed the head was on point. It says heat to max on medium heat as there is plastic around the whistle. I've had it for about 4 months, there isn't even a sign of melting, it heats the water in about 10 minutes and stays hot for quite some time. Also reviews on his dribbling, he pours well as long as you raise the whistle yes of course it drips when you pour the whistle down it's ONLY a whistle.

Beautiful teapot, I have the red color, more burgundy. It washes very easily and I like the smaller size.
