Not great, but not expensive either.

I wanted to like them. The low rating is because it is a low-quality tool. Don't expect top quality here. Mine were unpacked and got me thinking about the HF product. Don't believe that by waiting for Klein to show up.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Very low quality. Not even close to professional quality.

A cheap pair of pliers, hence no stars. But very low quality. They don't close well enough to even use a wire stripper. If this section had an adjustment, they would be better. But even with the stripper removed, they still don't close.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Speed

A tool I didn't even know I needed

This set of pliers replaces two tools in my power tool kit: wire cutters and pullers. If the nose were more angular, it would also replace my needle nose pliers. They feel good in the hand and are easy to work with (I usually only work with thin wire, so I don't need special wire strippers).

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • Some cons

Not exactly what I ordered

As you can see in the photo the pliers I received are different from the pliers shown on the Revain site. Most importantly, it only has stripping for 12, 14, and 16 gauge wires. Also, there is only one crimp option. As I only intend to use it around the house this isn't really a problem. If you are a trader this will be a problem.

Pros
  • Nice item
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

professional level.

as a pro, it's definitely a pro level, I use it as my main tool every day. I am a qualified electrician. If I could make modifications to this tool, I would isolate the handles, increase the hardness of the wood cutting blade and mounting screws/bolts, and add high leverage to one side of the handle. of course, id still costs $15; For what it is, this tool goes above and beyond.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Ability to upgrade

Great pliers! Good quality at a low price!

These Lineman pliers were very well designed and made from quality materials. I've just installed a couple of smoke alarms and that's all I need to cut, strip and twist heavy gauge copper wire. They have a strong and comfortable grip and feel very durable. I'm sure they will last a long time with proper care. You don't have to spend tons of dollars on fancy pliers from other "professional" brands; these work great!

Pros
  • Very Impressive
Cons
  • Commercial Availability

18AWG Wire Cutting Test

Summary: I've always liked hard chrome finish tools; not as shiny as polished chrome, just as easy to clean after greasy jobs. Test: I bought this primarily as a solar/PV assembly cutter so I tested the cutter on 18AWG stranded copper wire and was very impressed with how cleanly they were cut by cutting the wire; All I can say is that it's the right tool for the job. Don't abuse your tools and they will last longer. Pros: Good fit and finish; hard chrome plating; smooth operation; Good price…

Pros
  • Easy to Use: High leverage design saves you effort when using these pliers, the tool joint has reasonable clearances to reduce friction losses. The wire stripper can be loosened with a screwdriver and readjusted with your finger if misaligned.
Cons
  • A few minor things

18 months of daily use

After a year and a half of daily use on the construction site, these pliers are still working. I've tied a thousand knots of wire, put them through rain and snow, covered them in mud and clay, and even poured a lot of concrete over them. I only had to use a little WD-40 once or twice. I see most ironworkers using small tongs, the spring-loaded ones with the broader nose and little kink at the end of a handle, but I've seen them lose their grip. Springs in the first week and even rubber grips…

Pros
  • Handle made of eco-friendly PP+TPR materials, proTouch grips provide extra comfort and reduce hand fatigue.
Cons
  • obsolete

The advertised properties of these "combination pliers" convinced me. It is also listed as "Linesman Tongs". To remove a stripped nut/bolt, the cam ends must be "ribbed" to ensure a good grip on the bolt head. Yes, this feature is good and works fine. The problem is that the jaws don't fully touch as the internal "serration" leaves a small gap to fit around the head of the screw (see bottom pliers in pic 1). If you try to twist two 14 gauge wires together, the separation/gap will not fully…

Pros
  • Multifunctional: The multifunctional pliers can be used as a stripping tool as well as a wire cutter and pliers.
Cons
  • Something different
