Replaced another solar charger with this one because I needed a display. But he was dead on arrival. The ____ doesn't work. Unfortunately I waited too long and missed the return window.

You get what you pay for, so don't be surprised if the device doesn't work or breaks down quickly. Mine wouldn't recognize my panel right out of the box. This is a simple technology. It shouldn't be that hard to make a working product.

Cheap and will charge the batteries. The display is easy to read, but does not provide much information other than battery voltage and state of charge. It doesn't show the voltage/amps coming from the solar panels and only has a flashing icon when the solar panel is connected and producing power, but can't see how much power it is.

I set up the controller identically to another working controller. (same connections etc.). I connected the solar panel and battery in series with the battery using the power meter. The charge controller shows that the solar system is connected to the battery, but no current is flowing to the battery. This is a very simple controller. But it does what I need. The penalty box only shows the solar panel that charges the battery and the load.
