Need a FireWire/ilink adapter and I've found it.

This product was easy to install. The same company has PCIe and PCI FireWire IEEE1394/ilink/video capture cards. I have a Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder and needed to transfer video to my WIN10 computer. I've used a Pennacle 710 USB line machine for over 15 years, but it's dead. I should have taken that step many years ago. During installation, Windows recognized the card and automatically installed the drivers. As some WIN10 builds may not recognize the card, all the legacy drivers you may need…

Win 10 Pro Ready

The card was packaged well and looked good. Installed and recognized by the computer and Windows without problems. So why not 5 stars? The card worked for 2 hours and then stopped working. I couldn't get it to work, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted, nothing. I saw it in device manager but didn't see the video camera which I just put to good use for over an hour. I was going to pick it up and return it but decided to wait until tomorrow morning. The next day the card worked and continues to…

It just didn't work. Best in Computers & Accessories

Installation was easy. It only worked once in 32 seconds to capture some sort of video. Hasn't worked since then. I've reinstalled the card several times, but my Windows 10 64-bit computer doesn't recognize it. I have verified that the legacy driver is present in my programs, but the IEEE 1394 host controller does not show up in my devices. I installed the card on another Windows 10 computer, but it didn't recognize the card either, even though the software downloaded successfully. I suspect…

So far it appears to be bulletproof.

Easy to install, worked the first time and seems to handle anything I throw at it. I expected it to be more of a pain in the ass, so that was a relief. Update 5 months later: I'm sorry I had to downgrade this review to 1 star. About 3 months after I first tested this product, I noticed a decrease in data transfer speed - I ran some tests and instead of 200MB/s I got a write speed of about 30MB/s, which is about twice as much. reading speed.
