Needs Linksys support to properly optimize

I would give it 5 stars but found I need to contact Linksys support. My Wi-Fi was slow with only the default settings. The optimization was not intuitive or automatic. I had to spend 3 hours online with Linksys support to get the correct settings. I wouldn't have thought of it myself. My WiFi is now faster (about (50MB/s) from the max 100MB/s coming from the modem. I'm not sure if the WiFi login speed is likely to be cut in half, but by default I only have Got 2MB/s So 50MB/s out of 100MB/s is…

Pros
  • Like everything so far
Cons
  • flimsy

Good distance but tends to lose signal

I had mixed feelings about this modem. For one, it has a strong signal, and even though it's in a basement underground, I can still pick up a signal 200 feet away. On the other hand, this modem keeps dropping off two of my devices for no reason (I've done everything, believe me, it seems to be hardware related to the router itself). If I replace this router with my old Cisco, the devices stay connected. If these two devices didn't have this problem getting a signal from the AC2600 I would give…

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Useless features

Well I bought this router for $90 last year during the holiday season. I found the $90 AC2600 in 2016 to be a great deal. But wait a minute, it wasn't like that. You only get what you pay for. I can't bring it back now, behind the window. Here is my honest experience from one year.1. Internal disconnects frequently. This is totally unacceptable for logging into a remote work system over an end-to-end VPN. Corporate networks need a stable connection that lasts 24 hours a day to establish a VPN…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Reliability

Unreliable - router

The router was great for the first year, no problems but of course problems arose after the warranty expired. The main issue I had was that every 5 seconds one or two devices would randomly disconnect and reconnect. Invisible when streaming, but terrible when playing games and Zoom calls. After power cycle, it works as expected for 1-24 hours, but then some devices start having connection issues. Happens on a random device every time. This includes iPhone, MacBook, Xbox, PCs (both laptops and…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Excellent speed and range. Some issues but still a great device.

This was a great router. The increase in range compared to the old one is very noticeable. I have not reached speeds in these ranges at either AC or n. I'm deducting a star for 2 reasons. Firstly, I don't think the qos function works. Maybe behind the scenes it prioritizes a different type of traffic, but the way it does that is very odd to me. It looks like everything is capped at 15Mbps by default if you enable qos. You can then add high-priority users to the list, which should improve…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • No Insurance

Better than I had hoped for!

Almost a week passed between the purchase of this or any analogue from Netgear or Dlink. I saw Dong Ngo's cnet review, made sure I bought this one and am very glad I made the choice. Setup was easy. I didn't go for the manual setup, I let the router do its job and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes with no issues. So I'm honestly not sure how anyone would have trouble setting this up. He literally did everything himself, including updates. All I had to do was give my connection a name

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Long
