I made the mistake of not reading carefully when looking for a great rag rug hook. Basically this purchase was a mistake but I will use it until it breaks which will happen pretty soon. Cheap plastic and a hook that's too deep and thin for patchwork quilts, so I wanted a bigger hook. This is probably a good crochet hook for lighter items like a wide-slit scarf or something, but it definitely doesn't look like it'll work for patchwork quilts. I am an avid knitter and am always looking to add to my crochet collection. I wanted a wider hook for my broomstick project and decided to buy this hook. After using it for this project I found a very nice thick alpaca yarn that needed a 19mm hook and I used it for the scarf. Worked great with yarn. The plastic material of the hook helps you move faster on your projects as it's not that heavy (considering the thickness of the hook) and actually feels very comfortable in your hand.

I bought this needle to take to class. For those students who need instant gratification, this is a great crochet scarf tool. Instead of spending days and weeks seeing results, the process takes hours and then they can proudly show off their achievements. The good thing about this big crochet hook is that it can be done quickly.
