Lisle makes good tools, I just don't know how to use this one.

Seems like a good idea, but I've never been able to break twenty year old connections in wire harnesses. my tool box and I find myself reaching for screwdrivers and needle nose pliers to disconnect the wiring harnesses.

Pros
  • Double-ended tool for multiple access angles
Cons
  • Crumpled

Insecurely needed lifesaver. Good for saving fingers.

That protects your fingers! So many wire connector clips can't be removed because they release the tabs in the middle, meaning you have to lift two tabs to release the connector, which requires two hands or a lot of pain in your fingertips. This tool also releases these tabs in hard-to-reach places where they are easy to find. You may need to file the tip thinner if it's too greasy, but otherwise it's a great tool.

Pros
  • Put the tool tip behind the connecting clip
Cons
  • Long delivery

Sturdy but too thick for me

This tool is extremely reliable, but that's its downside. This weekend, while working with a 1967 Mustang, a 2007 Dodge Caravan, and a 2006 F-150, I couldn't get the tool to work with any of the electrical connectors I tried - the tool was too thick to fit. I had to resort to a thin slotted screwdriver. I bought this tool specifically for these projects as my cars get a lot of mileage and the plastic gets brittle over time. I would recommend it but make sure it fits first. Normally I would have

Pros
  • Push or pull to release
Cons
  • Not automatic
