This pair is worth buying! I tried a smaller brand and the jaws were dull and terrible. Don't fall for copycats! Lisle's CV tongs are real. The grind on the jaws is excellent and the middle hammer falls evenly. It's a few dollars more for this tool, but it's worth it!

Good for tie rod boots!

I bought this tool a few years ago but changed my mind and took the CV joints to the dealer for service. Last weekend I finally used it to put shells on tie rod boots. It worked very well. Because the cam's pivot point provides leverage, I was able to operate it with one hand, which is really good since there wasn't enough room around the rack. The outer strips were light, but the inner strips were spatially limited. (Volkswagen Golf '01). He only does one thing, but he does it very well.

I've used it a few times to make some CV and driveshaft clamps, but use an OTC 4722 Stinger Heavy-Duty CV Boot Clamp Installer for the shoes on two Grand Cherokees and the shoes on our 3/4 to P/U driveshaft . Boots. A slight reshaping of the grip, like some slightly contoured nappa leathers, to bring the grips closer…

Achieve professional results with the Lisle Tool 30800

This tool provides professional results when installing metal band boots on CV joints, racks or driveshafts. I recently replaced the inner tie rods on the steering rack on the Ram 3500. After installing the tie rods, I moved the plastic bellows to the steering rack and secured them with plastic ties. I don't think the zip ties can be fastened tight enough to keep water and dust out of the trunk. Also, the only thing I was annoyed with was that my finished work looked amateurish. After reading…
