My dad stopped sweating as he struggled to find the right oil filter wrench. Where we live there are almost no hardware stores and car dealerships. In any case, it was a great purchase.

I had an oil filter that just wouldn't come off. No matter how I tried other tools, I could not achieve this. This gave me a good angle, great grip and enough power to make it out of the box. This is the staple when the dealer (or factory in this case) over-bolts the oil filter. Some people might find the rotary knob useful, but I didn't really need it.

Don't waste your money on other types of filter keys. This is a very well made, high quality product (made in the USA). It is adjustable according to the size of the oil filter, and the handle rotates, so you can pull out the used oil filter even if it is severely compressed, and there is no space if you use another type of filter wrench. You will be so happy after the first use that you will not go back to another type (Friction Fit).

Dodge trucks have a "regular" transmission filter and a second spin-on filter, the same as the engine oil filter but much smaller. Because this spin-on filter is installed in the transmission fluid, you can't remove it by hand, so either use a screwdriver to puncture it and unscrew it (more of a mess) or get a proper filter wrench.
