Wrong Product Installation Specifications

I am an electrical contractor and have relied on the specifications provided to install this product. specified in the description. This is clearly not the same driver, and it is much larger than the one shown in the photo. Second, the description says it can be installed in a 2 inch deep cavity. NOT CORRECT! I reckon you need at least 5-6 inches or the driver won't slip through the hole you drilled. You may be able to fit in a 2" cavity if you have rear access, but then it's not a cavity. , it

Very bright, very compact and must be used with a dimmer

Bought for new construction in my basement. They are mounted on a soffit below my duct at about 6.5 feet and the light at full power at that height is quite blinding. I set the dimmer to around 60% and that seems to have helped. It's not finished yet, so I can't attest to the full finished effect yet. These lights are very small. The 3 inch measurement includes trimming, so don't assume the lantern itself is 3 inches wide. Another thing to note is that the box is very small. Small, like 4.2…

Great versatility but issues with buzz and low CRI

Overall we are happy with the purchase so far but I would rate it between a 3 and 4 due to some limitations and issues. Good: The form factor is perfectly suited for trying out proposed lighting locations in new construction and for installation in new areas of existing development - lumens are good with a wide light distribution. Because the LEDs are on the outer edge, they don't have the problem of downward-facing LEDs like some threaded models. No cans means no rumble from people walking on…

  • SUPER BRIGHT DIMMABLE LEDs consume 8W to deliver 550 lumens with a CRI of 80, nearly 70 lumens per watt. Up to 10% dimming and compatible with select Lutron, Levitron, Synergy and Sensor Switch dimmers

  • No form required

Love these lights in body and trim kits

These slim LED lights are crappy! They have amazing performance at any size. I have the 3", 4" and 6" versions and they dim perfectly with my dimmer of choice. Maestro Vel/LED version. I will never install recessed glass again! Update January 2019: I recently installed all 15 added another 4" wafers over my house and they are just awesome! LOVE LOVE LOVE her. This is an installer's dream of a lifetime - you can drill a hole anywhere - even under the plumbing, and install these guys right under…

Incredibly easy to install and produces amazing light.

Wow. I ordered 2 downlight kits from Halo and returned them after seeing this product. I settled on a 3" 3000K bright white bulb and figured I could just increase the hole size if I needed more light. Based on the product description it was very easy to install but after a few tedious DIY electrical projects around my house I was very skeptical I couldn't believe how easy these lights were to install I used my drill and hole saw to drill the holes, put in the lights, plugged in the box and…
