Will not drive a nail flush, even into a block of bricks

Just bought a new one. Apply a few drops of oil, load the nails and try to attach the 5/8" plywood to the concrete masonry block, which is about 1500 psi compared to 3000 for the concrete slab, but the 2" nail doesn't flush and driven about 1 psi /4". the nail was exposed. Increased the pressure to the maximum but 3/8" of the nails still didn't drive. Contacted the seller who contacted the manufacturer. The manufacturer says plywood is more durable than wooden planks. This concrete nail gun works perfectly. That's how it should be!

Gun worked perfectly. It's amazing that this pistol costs less than $90. So far I've actually gotten my money's worth. I drove the nails into 3/4" wood and then into the cement and cement block. I used 2 and 1/2 nails because I also had 3/4 hardboard insulation between them. I had to do the PSI for the first three nails but after that I never had a problem installing the 400 linear feet of 3/4 strapping that held the 3/4 insulation and the strapping also held the 3/4 plywood shelves These T…
