Small but mighty, the best of putties, adhesives and sealants

Worked very well for my application using the rifle gas block set screws. The part has not moved since installation. I bought this item because it has a higher temperature than standard blue Loctite. The jar is small, true, but if used properly it will likely last for hundreds of uses.

Pros
  • W. - 0.08lbs
Cons
  • Crumpled Pack

Best Medium Threadlocker

Yes the bottle you buy is small but I think the price is reasonable for the size. Developed for high temperature applications, Loctite 246 is a superior choice over traditional medium strength blue threadlockers for engine applications. I had plain blue thread lock screws when they were used on my Harley engine.

Pros
  • Resistance - Motor Oil Leaded Gasoline Brake Fluid Acetone
Cons
  • It's OK

Heat Resistant Thread Locking Adhesive

Use this when securing nuts/bolts/bolts that will be exposed to heat. It is heat resistant to around 400-450 degrees Fahrenheit. I called Loctite tech support (I got it from a hardware store where I live) and asked what product would work for these situations and they told me to buy this product. I have used it on the bolts that attach the header to the head of a water cooled motorcycle. The parts are detachable, but the clasp needs to be heated with a hair dryer before removing.

Pros
  • Application - Threads
Cons
  • Expensive
