    FAMILY SIZE! on frying pans

This is a BIG frying pan! Make sure that's how you want to be successful. I'm single so I rarely need this size. Nice red hat. Well I'm not impressed. Bottom line: whatever I use this for, I'll probably still use my full-size slow cooker, and it has a lid. Walmart has the same Lodge items at better prices. UPDATE, SAME DAY. Just checked my recent Walmart flyer and ordered 2 Lodge made pans to use for $10 less than the $42 I paid for this one which is too big for my oven! Return due to high…

Really great purchase! I love this cast iron skillet!

I love this 10 inch cast iron skillet from Lodge! I thought for a long time whether I should buy it or not. For me, such a purchase is an investment, and I want my investment to last. I also really like that it's made in the USA. American made products are not so easy to find now. But actually, the proof of the quality of this cast iron was evident when I made sweet potato cornbread and baked it in the oven in this skillet. It came out so beautiful, brown and moist. I'm including photos so you…

    Large and heavy utensils

I was concerned that the rough surface might stick, but I found that wasn't a problem. However, preconditioning has some problems. It's easy to fix, but I don't think anyone should use these pans as is. If you wipe it with a clean towel you will notice a black film. This is not how cast iron cookware should be. What you really need to do is: 1) Thoroughly wash the pan in hot, soapy water using a green washcloth or steel wool to remove any remaining oil and black films. 2) Wipe the pan dry with…

Not seasoned enough but it's still a fantastic pan.

We use this pan for everything but eggs. We've had this one for quite some time so I feel like I can give a longer term review. My biggest complaint about this pan is that it doesn't come with enough pre-seasoning, so we watched a few videos and guides and did it. Now it seems that the more we use the pan, the better it gets. My husband and I just love this item. The only thing that seems wrong are the eggs. Cast iron seems like a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's a…
