I purchased two of these units. Both are very dim. The light output is closer to 5-watt then 50-watts. I have them mounted directly over entrance doors and they barely provide enough light to see the lock on the door. I will have to change these out for something that provides more light. I like this light because I use it under my pond fountain pump and need a very broad light beam. Because of this,the light is not for every use. The quality is average for this type of light but is watertight so far. I've been using it for 3 months now without any problems but wonder if it will last long

Update: 7 years and these lights are still working great!Ive had this light for two years now. It works very well. Colors are vivid and easily changed, there are many combinations. Currently I've got them on timers for the halloween season. They have been rained on and snowed on with no problems at all. They slso put in a great dance party light show, inside, for my 4 year old. Although my intentions are to use this as a lighting setup for an Indie feature movie (digital gels!) I ordered it ahead of time to use for throwing light on my house during Christmas. And while it didn't exactly light up the night, it did provide a nice glow in all the different colors. I cannot attest to its durability vis a vis the electronics, but it is physically well made and should hold up in that respect.

The white light from it is actually based on different colored different LEDs.Therefore, the white light is not very bright - for example a 50 watt white light LED lamp would be a whole lot brighter than this. In fact, my 30 watt LED lamp of similar design, was much brighter than this.Another problem with all such lights is - they don't provide the wire, suitable for electrical code in USA. They just provide a plug in this case - which is not the best option for an outdoor light.

User friendly and provided good "wash" for the space I wanted to cover with light. I do wish the fade/transition between colors could be slowed and that there was a higher wattage available to provide bolder light.

This was my 4th one to put up outside. They do have plugs which some people may not like but I guess they could be hardwired if someone really wanted to do this. Only drawback is remote does not have much range and have to get pretty close to change colors. You can put them on timers but honestly, it is just easier to leave them on day and night. Many different color options. Will go for orange or purple this Halloween.

Lights changed colors with the remote as advertised but colors other than white are much dimmer. I believe the 50w ratting is based on when all the LEDs are on to produce white light. Used these lights 12' from our house and red or blue were barely visible compared to the light coming from the streetlights.
