Logitech C270: Black Webcam with 3MP Resolution and USB 2.0 Review

Edit: Upon further research I found out that this is actually a legitimate camera, they changed the design after the fact and I wasn't aware of it. However, it doesn't have a focus mechanism and the default focus is pretty poor. I used it to monitor my 3D printer and had to take it apart (which isn't easy to remove the crease), cut out the glue on the camera's manual focus and press an adjustment button.

I am a teacher who needs to work remotely in my classes and this article was specifically recommended to help improve my Zoom presence. It worked fine for 40 days and then stopped working, just in time to outlast Revain's 30-day return policy. As if I didn't have enough to do right now. Thank you Logitech.

I returned this $80 webcam from Amazon because it wasn't working properly and I spent extra Trump dollars and bought this baby! It was immediately ready for use and absolutely forgery-proof. I was up and running with my pretty face on YouTube in less than 3 minutes. I just had to create a new web ad in Stream Labs. The cable is about a meter long, so there is plenty of space. The picture looks good too.

The previous older version of the Logitech 720p webcam was plug and play with the Windows operating system. The instructions don't work with Windows 10. Had to go into Windows and force it to use the Windows generic USB driver instead of the Logitech driver to get it working. On a positive note, the quality and cropping is better than my built-in 720p camera on my Dell computer.

This webcam is really ready for action. I didn't realize until I got it that you need the weight of the cable behind the webcam to hold it in place as it doesn't have a clip that attaches to the monitor. It simply rests on the monitor, using a couple of plastic grommets on the clip and the weight of the cable to keep it in place. The image quality is crisp and looks good. However, the color is terrible. I downloaded some software that allows you to tweak it a bit but it doesn't help much. If you turn off auto white balance, it's impossible to get the same color as with AWB on (which is really weird?). With the AWB on, I look grey-green and a bit dead.
