I've had a hard time with them. I even added some extra glue around it because it's awkward for me to use. I'm not sure how well they will work, but I hope they last a while. I bought these to set up a sealed box for my Christmas lights. I do not recommend this. Get something with longer threads. They seem to be doing a good job of waterproofing, but the threads make me a little nervous about how well they will hold up.

I used them to make junction boxes for IP cameras around the house. As already mentioned, the threads on these cable entries are not very long and therefore do not reach into the inside of the socket. I have had to remove the gasket on all my uses to make it safe. Fortunately, they are not used in locations exposed to the weather, otherwise removing the gasket will reduce the sealing effect. Regardless of the size chosen, the threads are all a bit short.

I have used other brands. But this brand is a joke. There is not enough thread on the side that goes through the surface. Since they're out of the bag, the rod that goes through the panel is barely long enough to just step on the nut BEFORE you put it through the panel. Unfortunately, the designer really missed it. Technically, it is considered that after fastening the fastener, 2 threads should remain. Before installation, 2 threads are not visible, only with a nut.

I've had bad results. First, the mounting thread is very short. Don't plan to install anything thicker than 0.09, 0.06 is better. Then the mounting threads are all different sizes. Nothing is a standard port size. Then the mounting thread/nut has too much thread play and the plastic is not strong. Try to tighten the mounting nut firmly and it slips onto the threads. I bought these thinking I would use them with a Nema 4 outdoor plastic junction box, but there aren't enough threads on the cable gland to to hook the mother. I pushed hard on the rubber washer to catch a thread. If you hit one of the cable glands lightly, the nut breaks off because it is only on one thread. If you're looking for a waterproof outdoor cable that you can put in the box, this is it. BUT:. You may need to change it up a bit. I had to connect a lightweight 18-gauge outdoor extension (I think an orange wire you can get at your local hardware store for about $10) to the outer siding and waterproof it to some degree. I would suggest buying them a month or two BEFORE the intended use date so they get rid of that damn formaldehyde smell that's so common with imported plastic products. I literally can't keep them in the store until they lose some of that smell. Other than that, they're exactly the same as any gland nut I've ever seen. The main reason for the 3 star rating is that (3) of the connectors were broken/missing "fingers" and I only noticed this after the return window. If these "fingers" are missing, the seal will be uneven and push out of the connector even where there are no "fingers". You can still get a good print, but in a critical application I wouldn't risk it.
