Almost a perfect buy but not quite

I would give this LCD a 5 but there was a problem with one of the components included. I added the required code to the Raspbian Buster conf.txt file and then proceeded to boot up my Rpi +3B with the LCD attached as per the included instructions on the CD. Once the Rpi booted up, the screen quality looked pretty poor, with reddish noisy lines running across the desktop chassis. This is unacceptable so I was about to return the display for a refund when my daughter, a programmer, suggested I try

Pretty good, works with Ubuntu Mate

I think it's good enough for my purposes, although it's a bit odd that the wires are sticking out. The frame is fine, but one of my screws was too short. I just ended up not using it as it's not expensive but speaks volumes about the build quality. Update January 22 (one month): The touch screen has stopped working. It's hard to tell if it's open source or screen related, but since the OS doesn't seem to have any issues, I'll say it's because of this screen.

Good small screen for computer components

I no longer have the CD in my computer so the CD didn't do me any good. It would be nice to have printed instructions OR to be able to see written instructions on how to assemble the case. I think I figured it out, but it was definitely trial and error. That's the only thing I can say I didn't like. I would like to see a way to attach the Pi to the back of the screen while the Pi is in the case. I want to protect the Pi, and just screwing the circuit board to the back of the screen doesn't…

Overall a very good product

I've seen a few trends in the reviews which I can look at now that I've received the product. The screen itself is actually quite bright, I haven't had any issues with it so far. The case itself isn't really that hard to build, but I didn't hook up a Raspberry Pi so I won't do it if people get in trouble. I use this screen as a temperature monitor for my PC (outside the case). When I turn off my computer the screen is light blue and says no signal. I solved this problem by buying a USB…

Nice little package, doesn't work for Windows 10

Seems like a great little monitor. It's easy to assemble, thin and the case looks nice (although I wouldn't mind an extra piece of acrylic to cover the LCD ribbon cable). The problem for me was that Windows 10 didn't want to recognize it. I don't know if it needs a special driver or something, but even when it boots up, nothing shows up on the screen. The uneven resolution and the lack of scaling also make work difficult. At least I could use the monitor on my computer's BIOS screen, but the…

the screen looks fine. it's not worth it

Should have read more closely; There is a similar product that comes with a pre-assembled case and is much better designed. What you get for the case here are 4 sheets of cut acrylic complete with paper that you need to carefully peel off. Then you figure out how to put it all together and twist it with tiny nuts and bolts. If it's not about taking the time to solve the mystery, I have no idea why they designed the case the way they did. This was the most inefficient way to create a case. The…

Works well, lacks a bit of brightness and contrast

I use this for my raspberry pi lapbox that I made. I first used it with the included stand and it worked fine. The touchscreen works well, and following the setup instructions, the Pi adjusted the video to fit the screen's aspect ratio. The calibration of the touchscreen is excellent. There were no problems with this. The provided HDMI cable had problems, the screen lost the signal and I found that by moving the connector on the TFT screen side (not the Raspberry Pi side) the screen worked…

  • Easy to use

  • Poor instructions
