Well built for sport

Very well built. The color is much lighter than in the picture and therefore does not match the existing teak. Maybe with age.

Pros
  • Boating and sailing
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

nice piece of wood

nice piece of wood. I plan on putting a few coats of varnish on it and incorporating it into the fiberglass companionway cover on my sailboat.

Pros
  • sport
Cons
  • safety

Beautiful teak insert with shutters.

The texture and color of the teak is not perfectly matched and the uniformity of the openings is slightly different as the blinds are made of thin slats, but you have to be very close and in a very awkward position to do that see. It comes sanded well, but I had to use 180 and 220 grit to get it to the point where it was ready for gloss varnish. Once installed, it perfectly replaces the previously worn metal grate.

Pros
  • Boating
Cons
  • Big and bulky
