NOT good sonar. good for marine electronics

I've had mine for over a year now and use it regularly. If it works - beauty. The problem is that it only works half the time. I've replaced the sensor, updated the software, consulted the support site, etc. I've found that MANY other people are having the same issues with this as I am. Something that costs that much money should work. Very frustrating. I strongly advise against buying another device.

Pros
  • marine electronics
Cons
  • questionable purchase for the elderly

Please don't waste your money!

I don't think I could be more disappointed in Lowrance. This is a cheap and poorly designed product. Unlike Lowrance, it does not work with Navionics charts. Maps freeze and you exit the map. Unlike Lowrance, a recent software update didn't fix the issue. Downscan is useless. Search the web, Lowrance techs are telling people that the processor must be slow to do everything well and that we should buy a better Lowrance product to fix the problems. I would like to give 0 stars. See attached video

Pros
  • electronics
Cons
  • boring packaging

This unit is mounted on the bow of my boat and is used exclusively for 2D chirp sonar. It is basically suitable for this. The screen is bright and I can read all the numbers displayed while standing. Medium chirps tend to give the best bottom structure return while high chirps tend to be better for vertical jigging. I also get a lot more noise from the trolling motor on high frequencies than on mids. The device tends to lose traction. I call this "shutdown" and it will fail multiple times…

Pros
  • Fishfinder and Fishfinder
