Absolute garbage in marine electronics

The automatic depth range was not developed properly. The automatic depth range changes rapidly with small changes in depth. This leaves dozens of thin vertical lines on the screen. The screen cannot be used as a sonar. The depth range changes from 10ft to 80ft every 0.2 seconds when I am at 7ft for example. At a depth of 7 feet, the depth range changes continuously by 10 feet, 15 feet, 80 feet, 20 feet, 60 feet, 10 feet, 15 feet every 0.2 seconds

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • No car

If you are looking for a simple fish finder, this device is for you. I just wanted speed and depth for this device. I installed it at the front of my fishing boat. I have another Lowrance at the helm. For the price you can't do better in my opinion. I've had 7 or 8 Lowrance units and haven't had a problem with any of them. GO LOW RANCE! giggle

Not impressed. best in marine electronics

2 4 inch hooks proved to be a disappointment on many counts. First, the instructions are mostly useless. The product seems good enough, but it's hard for me to tell if I'm in "simulation" mode or in real life. The base is also basically useless (no rotation or left-right movement) so will be making more $25 spent on an aftermarket upgrade Money that will likely end up in the trash after one use.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some problems

No rotating bracket or threaded mounting holes

I haven't had a chance to use my new device yet. I continue to prepare the boat for the season. My biggest complaint has to be the lack of mounting options. Yes, while they improved the way the mount attaches to the device, they didn't allow the mount to twist or rotate. There is no threaded mounting hole on the back of the device to allow the use of another mount. So you are stuck in one or two mounting positions. Luckily I'm a maker and will do whatever works for me. But folks, would it kill…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Revain misleading product description

This product is listed as follows: Lowrance HDS-7 Carbon is a 7 inch fish finder with TotalScan transducer, CHIRP sonar and enhanced US C-MAP basemap. If I didn't search far below for more product descriptions I would have reason to believe I was buying a 7" Lowrance HDS fish finder etc. I was just looking for a basic fish finder, so something with GPS and CHIRP Sonar is ridiculous The low price of $99 was amazing What I received was a basic sonar without any CHIRP or GPS functionality I won't…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Operating speed

Easy to install, easy to use

I bought this unit for my eight foot fiberglass stroller. Since I am mounting the stroller on a trolley, I epoxyed the sensor to the inside of the stroller under the seat bracket. The display is on the inside of the case on the left side and is easily accessible. The device replaced a device from another manufacturer with a lower reading. The device turned out to be easy to use and gives me a lot of information when fishing on lakes. Although the device doesn't have a "map" of the lake, the GPS

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • New competitors appeared

Hook2-4x on new boat tracker, not good, NO display, does NOT turn on at all. Yes, read all manuals, troubleshooting, lowrance website, youtube, forums etc etc. Yes, good voltage, good wiring, correct connection. No, it's not an incredibly stupid screen brightness/contrast setting that's flawed in design, yes, it's not a bad wiring harness or connector. As Lowrance 'customer service' is a big fat zero, as most people already know, I ordered a new unit from Revain which was a quick and easy exit…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some difficulties
