I've bought them in the past and now bought another bunch a few years later. a terrible chemical smell that I can't get rid of. Previous sponges did not have this smell.

I buy these for our filter because they are SO easy to replace. We don't wash them, we just completely replace them with a new filter every time. These filters keep our 55 gallon tank clean. Buying from Revain is a lot cheaper than buying from the pet store!

I use these for pre-filter and main filter so I don't have to keep changing cartridges. I cut them to size and make a hole for the pre-filter and stack them. Inner tank for basic filtration, also good for bio. works great and is cheap.

After using these filters for a few months I hope they stay available because they work great! This is a denser foam that traps a lot of dirt and debris, keeping the carbon backing cleaner for longer. I notice a decrease in water flow when they need to be cleaned. Quick backwash and they are ready for further use. I recommend cleaning these foam elements a little more often.

Superb quality, fantastic price! I love these foam filters. They are denser than the famous brand. The pores are much smaller and the foam is a little heavier. They catch even the smallest particles and deliver crystal clear water within minutes. At this quantity and price, filter maintenance is quick and easy. Photo attached, dense foam is universal, more porous/more porous is a popular brand name found at most pet stores.

Oh now it's totally worth the one-time cost, all you have to do is shake it in plain water and get gold. It holds its shape well, the only thing is that it flows slower as it's thicker than a regular backing. If possible, adjust the inlet flow so that it does not overflow. 09/29/17 So I'm still using the original filters that I cut out for my various filters and they still work great.
