I bought these filter pads because they are cheap and they work great in my filter. The last orders are much denser and reduce the flow of water through my filter. I won't buy anymore.

They arrived with a VERY STRONG smell of chlorine as soon as you opened the packaging. I'm going to soak their snot in dechlorinated water so hopefully they can be used. I will not buy again!

Very practical! I use them everywhere: as a matte filter, as a pre-filter on air intakes, in canister and HOB filters. They can be cut very easily with a bread knife. The pores are larger, but that's a good thing as they don't clog as often as higher PPI media.

Excellent economical option for the aquarium. We use them in our Aquaclear 110. We also cut the filters to fit other brands of filters. Filter material can quickly increase in price. This is a great and cheaper option, especially if you have multiple tanks and many filters to service. They also withstand multiple cleanings. The surface of the sponge contains many beneficial bacteria.

I wouldn't recommend them. Of course they are cheaper. but that's the point. quality is so bad. My tank got visibly dirty after using them instead of the branded filter. They are much more porous and allow small particles to pass through. I'm even starting to use two of these at once and still can't get the same or similar results that I would get with my real brand's filter pad.

Perfect fit, very large holes so I used the whole block. Does what it should. TO UPDATE! Now that I checked them all last week I wanted to update the rating downgraded to ONE and that's only because it got here in time. TERRIBLE quality, NOT LAST. Decomposes and disintegrates (each) after only 4-5 cleanings. The original lasted for years. It's junk and not worth the money. Save your money and buy the right thing. Yes, it cost more, but I've learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

How can I complain about 6 filter pads for the price of about 1 or 2 big brands? I only got it installed less than a month ago and the tank came with an old rough tank which I replaced which I didn't purchase. I'm just assuming it's a well-known brand. I think the texture was a little different but I can't see how a sponge can be that different than the price. With so many filters, sponges, inserts and everything else needed to maintain a beautiful BIG aquarium, I appreciate any versatile item…
