I love it when you're looking for a different take. There aren't many shows about horse racing. Yes, the dialogue is difficult to follow as the characters use industry terminology. It got easier when I found a few phrases like: horse racing, handicap, horse entitlement,. Some of the characters have distinct accents, which is pretty realistic since there are a lot of immigrants in the industry.
