This cat scratching post was too light. Every time my cats tried to scratch him, they would knock him down. One of my cats is very skinny, about 7 pounds. and she knocked over that scratching post too. The floor had to be much heavier to be able to use it properly. My cat's claws were getting too sharp so I started looking for a scratching post to buy for him (and my skin!). I took a chance and bought this one just because it's cute and then most impressed with its durability. My cat Henry uses it several times a day and as you can see from the photo he is not very gentle with it.
