Cat scratching post too light

This cat scratching post was too light. Every time my cats tried to scratch him, they would knock him down. One of my cats is very skinny, about 7 pounds. and she knocked over that scratching post too. The floor had to be much heavier to be able to use it properly. In this way it is useless and we have to weigh it down somehow to be able to use it. 👎

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • unreliable

My cat loves it on Cats

My cat's claws were getting too sharp so I started looking for a scratching post to buy for him (and my skin!). I took a chance and bought this one just because it's cute and then most impressed with its durability. My cat Henry uses it several times a day and as you can see from the photo he is not very gentle with it. Just as importantly, the wood was easy to assemble, looked as aesthetically pleasing as advertised and kept the claws under control!

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

Cheap cork bottom but cute design

This post is advertised for cats weighing 10 pounds or less. I missed it in the description when ordering. My 17 lb cat knocked it over the first time I used it. I understand this is for small cats but the base is just a cork board, I feel it wouldn't be strong enough even if it weighed less. No assembly instructions were included with the parts. It seemed easy enough. A washer is included, I used it to attach the palm leaf screw on top. The bottom screw is recessed into the base so it doesn't…

This scratching post is great

At first my cat didn't understand what that was. I tried putting catnip on it, nothing. he didn't use it. but after a while. he learned how to use it and it became his favorite scratching post! I have that and cardboard and he hasn't used cardboard since he used wood. what else - the tree looks so cute! Sometimes the top leaves fall off, but it's very easy to collect them back Some cons - * When you take it out of the box, it has a very strong dusty and unpleasant smell. I had to vacuum it up…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Cute cat tree, modification required

This is a budget cat tree so you get what you pay for. I have a small cat, 7kg, and she doesn't pay too much attention to the scratching post. After a month of brief use, the bottom of the stand wobbled, and eventually the cardboard tube detached from the plastic insert that secures it to the carpeted base. We removed the brackets, used drywall screws to attach the cardboard tube back to the plastic insert, and then re-tape the string around the bottom of the tube covering the screw heads. We…

Pros
  • Great design

All in all a great purchase

Very easy to assemble apart from hanging the hammock. The supplied strings/ropes are too long so you need to cut them. I ended up cutting them too short and had to start over with the rope I happened to have. The hammock also often got lost during assembly because the folded ends (where you put the dowels) were not finished. That's a little less than I expected. Not big but my 2.5lb kitten barely fits on the platform. And chin up - the floor isn't a solid piece. It folds in half in the middle…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Operating Speed

Cute and cats love it BUT...

Kittens love it, they even 'helped' me assemble it! Once he was together, they scratched and played with a ball tied to a tree. I didn't think they would look at the hammock part again, but I got this one because its construction was sturdier compared to pure wood. The child in the family (3 months) slept on it straight away, then the 6 month old crawled on it and to take a nap the cheap bracket that holds the braid in a cardboard tube broke right on a corner and at the bottom. fell. We had to…

Cat Paradise

This hammock and cat tree are very cute! I have two cats, 13 years old and a recently adopted kitten. My older cat hates hammocks so won't even try them, but loves the palm scratching post. I will actually order a scratching post for her! My kitty is 2.5 months old and loves to climb things so I thought this would be perfect for her. The hammock is definitely more suitable for kittens than for adult cats. There were instructions in my package that I didn't use because they are pretty simple and

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine
