Terrible build quality

Have been using this brand's line of products for 40 years and have bought a lot over the years. In the last 10 years I've seen the quality drop to pure bullshit due to the fact that they were unusable The hinges were tight even after greasing, but in the open position they were so sloppy and loose that I couldn't get them once almost straight. I had the same problem when they closed I've tried other brands lately and this seems to be the new normal for folding rules. I think the old quality…

Very disappointingly good for linear measurements

I ordered the 066F range from Revain.com thinking I was getting a good quality and sized range that I have been using for over 50 years. When I opened the box and saw the rule, I realized it wasn't the same. I have a problem with the rule - the thickness of the tree. Each blade is approximately .030 thicker than the old standard, making the rule approximately 5/16" wider overall. The ruler length is also about Β½ inch longer. This new 066F rule feels uncomfortable in the hand due to the…

Goes well with the tape

When I first started woodworking in 1970 I bought one of these rulers. My young son, now 40, broke it within a few weeks. For many years I have preferred to use roller measuring tapes. Both the ruler and the tapes have their pros/cons. I generally like retractable straps. But they are harder to read for small measurements. And then they always want to "jump back" by either pinching their fingers or possibly damaging the measurement object. This rule doesn't work well for this, but it doesn't…
