The battery case is thin and flimsy. It has 4 AA batteries in a cage with a 9V connector connecting the body and controller. When changing the battery for the first time, the negative pole was pulled out of the battery compartment. On the other hand, that first set of batteries lasted a long time. With a reinforced battery compartment this would be a great product. Everything else worked fine, so this failure on the first battery change was disappointing.

These lights are brighter than expected and have many modes to choose from. The multicolor looks festive for the holidays. I chose them because the roof of my house is too high for even the tallest ladder I have to reach, so these lights now illuminate the area around the front door. I bought three for bushes in front of my house. I've had them for a few days and plan to buy more. After reading some of the other comments you need to know the following: 1) There are contacts on the battery holder that should fit snugly into their other half at the bottom of the cylinder. If you make sure of this, you won't have a problem with only half the lights working. 2) The timer starts when the light is turned on.
