This thing is way louder than I expected. Might end up trying to placate him somehow. Dynamat is everywhere in my car, so I appreciate the smooth ride with good stereo support. It's only been two weeks so I'm still wondering if this purchase was a mistake or not. It's hard to give a real performance critique because I've never measured anything.
I have a Nissan Xterra 05 and the way Nissan combined two exhaust systems into one with a crappy pipe is a shame. I had it hooked up at a local muffler shop for a few hundred dollars and it replaced the Y pipe which gave me a lot more power and an extra 2 mpg. Very happy with this product, I would like to point out that this is a large muffler and is about the same volume as the standard on my truck but has a slightly deeper sound. No drones on the freeway and no angry neighbors.
If you're looking for a muffler that's a little louder than stock without producing that awful rumble then this muffler is worth buying. I installed this on my 2011 Nissan Xterra 4.0 v6. I had the muffler shop get rid of the dreaded stock Y-pipe and make 2 new 2.25mm link pipes to the two 2.25mm inlets on the Magnaflow (muffler bi-directional). It definitely improved acceleration. It sounds amazing on a cold start, but dies down to a low hum after warming up. It's almost quiet on the freewayβ¦
