this is the third time i am reviewing this recorder. my hobby is video broadcasting and I use these devices at least 38 hours a week all year round. they are workhorses! All you have to do is register. clean repair and such. 100% reliable. BUT! BEWARE OF NEW ONES THAT HAVE BEEN CHIPED! I didn't realize no tuner means no standard coax input either. This is a problem if your cable box ONLY has a coaxial output. With a little ingenuity, by hooking up this unit to the DVD/VCR box that was supposed to replace it, I can now watch/record what's on the TV. This works until I find a suitable RF converter at Walmart. This is a great device, but note that it doesn't support coaxial cable input.
