I had another peeler that only peeled apples which was pretty neat but also the core not removed and not cut apples. When I accidentally broke it I was sad but now I like it more because I replaced the old one with it. It will take about 8 seconds once you put the apple on the skewers. I haven't used this with anything other than apples, but it should work with some pears and potatoes. Very easy to use! I was a little surprised that the whole apple was sliced in a spiral, I thought it was just peeled, but since I made applesauce it was perfect! The slices are even and the whole apple just slides off. I placed a peeled, spiral-shaped apple on a cutting board, cut it into 6 pieces, and tossed them in a bowl.
