My student loves a travel chess board that you can put in your backpack and play with friends around campus in the common areas. :)

Gave this to my son who loves to play chess. Good quality details. The only point of criticism is that the back cover does not always snap into place. I'm always afraid that the box will open and all the pieces will fall out. I have instructed my son to keep this in a plastic bag which is no big deal.

I work for a program that helps adults with intellectual disabilities access the community and socialize. My client just learned how to play chess during quarantine and is looking forward to playing with friends. This kit is ideal as it is often on the go. Not too heavy to carry, but sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about the quality. Dollar store prices for a quality item.

This is (only) a small, inexpensive travel chess set. Don't expect anything fantastic. The parts are plastic and of poor quality, but they do the job. I just needed a set small enough that I could set it up on my desk without moving a few things. I have a full size board but it takes up too much space to do just practical stuff. This set meets all my expectations. BONUS - it arrived a day earlier than the scheduled delivery.

Small and compact chess set. These magnetic chess pieces are ideal for traveling. However the quality of the set is not very good as one of the magnets fell off the knight chess piece and kept falling off even though I pushed it back. Another problem I had with this set was that the black pieces had 2 queens instead of 1 queen and 1 king, so we had to tie a rubber band around one of the queens to tell it apart from the king.

This is a solid board for beginners. I bought it because my kids who were going through the checkers phase kept asking questions about chess during the game. We've had the board for a month or two and it's solid. The hinges don't seem to break and the magnets are strong. These are small pieces of plastic, but they don't break. I like that you keep the pieces on the board so you can't lose them. In general, I am satisfied with the purchase and believe that the money was not spent in vain.
