This is a great travel set. It would be ideal if the shelf was full size so you could build a wall out of it and store all the tiles in a row. Also, the casing must be durable so that the tiles fit in and don't fall out. But still the best travel set, it was lightweight and fit in my carry on and we used it on the balcony of a cruise ship in Hawaii and the tile stayed in place even with the trade winds. I am very impressed with this travel set. The tile is very nice, the size of a regular tile but thinner. There are no rough edges and they are embossed. Every tile was perfect. Very good travel set for the price! My only problem is the stand. It is short and has two rows for tiles. I can't get used to it, so when I travel I'll use my regular poses and leave the short ones at home. Ordinary plastic frames are lighter anyway. A very good travel set for the price. I love this travel kit! I first bought a set of Mah Jongg CARDS for traveling but they took up too much space on the table and it was really difficult to play without a stand. After "trying" to play cards one night, I ordered this set and shipped it to the Hawaiian Islands where we were vacationing. That's great! I really like the tile. They look like the same material and have the same engraved graphics as the regular sets, but the tiles are approximately 1/8 inch thick. Racks are made of masonite and form the top and bottom rows in layers. The posts are smart, but I would prefer slotted flat posts (like domino posts). The main claim to the box. Actual rated 4 1/2. I like that the edges of the tiles are the same size as the standard set, they are easy to see. The tile still has the tactile feel (and "click") of a standard plastic tile at just 1/8 inch thick. It still fits perfectly in the wall. The complete set weighs 2.5 pounds without the box, and the shelves and tiles pack into a crate.
