Purchased to charge my boat battery off the beaten path while camping. I had no problem charging the battery even after just standing in direct winter sun for half a day after using the battery to power my CPAP machine for 8 hours every night.
Works GREAT as a trickle charger for 2 70Ah lead acid batteries powering my sailboat's electrical system. I leave my boat docked and had to run the engine for a while over the weekend to keep the batteries charged. This completely solves this problem. Now when I get to the boat the batteries are always charged, the engine doesn't need to be started at all. VERY easy to install as this application does not require a controller. The service was great.
Well built and solid solar panel. I researched for weeks and after speaking to DuraVolt's fast, courteous and knowledgeable staff, I knew this was exactly what I needed. It's installed on our 20ft center console boat that's known for draining our batteries. We installed it on a T-Top with no problem. So far (2 weeks of use) it has our (2) batteries fully charged and ready for whatever we need. I understand there are cheaper/smaller solar panels out there, but I encourage any new user to do some
I have a Glen L Fourteen (fourteen foot plywood sailboat) on a lake in the Adirondacks. It's old and the dagger board is starting to leak. With this panel I can dock my boat all season long with a small bilge pump connected to the battery and not worry about finding the boat on the bottom when I go there for the weekend. There is enough power for trolling weekends (I mainly use the boat for fishing). The best part is that I don't have to lug the battery to the campsite to charge it the next day
Absolutely amazing - includes everything you need to connect to 12v. Really impressed with the construction - solid without being bulky, strong yet very light. Easily connects to the battery and keeps it fully charged. I used it to charge a marine deep cycle battery in a trailer. Barry drives the lighting system and the 150 watt sound system - the amp is fine! Juice is not over yet! Don't think I ever will! Fantastic product, I am sure I will be a customer for life! And I tell all my friends!
Pros
NO EXPERIENCE Plug and play design - Free ring battery adapter included - Free technical support.
I bought in August '16 to keep the trailer battery charged during storage. I connected it to my plastic propane cap. While this may not be the best spot for the sun, I believe it will suffice. It had everything you need to connect to the battery. The only thing I had to buy was four mounting screws and having the mounting holes already on the solar charger was great. It didn't work initially. I contacted support via email and Rich Schwartz responded to all my questions quickly (usually withinβ¦
Pros
Self-regulating - Batteries from 50 Ah do NOT require a solar regulator.
I actually wrote a review commending the people at this company for being honest and NOT trying to sell me any of these (based on our specific situation) when I read some before Time called to find out more (we are mostly just boaters, our boat is moored with shore power year round and at the time I asked about 8.3 watts). is a fan of solar energy and is off the grid. Even though our power needs are minimal and infrequent for a night or two camping on a boat and we have access to shore powerβ¦
Pros
Semi-Flex DOES NOT FLEX, CAUTION that flexing modules can damage fragile solar cells.
