🔧 Makita 9557NB2 Angle Grinder Switch: Enhanced Control and Precision Review

Quality product at a great price. Now I don't have to switch between different circuits on the same mill. I now have one for cutting/grinding and one for wire wheel work. Tested and it was quieter than the one they replaced. The gear case was barely warm after 15-20 minutes of light use.

My 19 year old Makita 4 inch grinder has finally shed clamshell camp after many hundreds of hours of great service. These new grinders promise to be just as good as the old ones. They seem better balanced in performance, changing wheels is quick and easy, and the motor is quieter than my other grinders. The price of these 2 packs is unbeatable.

Makita seems to have lowered their standards. I'm a steel fabricator and have worn out 6 or 7 of these 4 1/2 inch angle grinders in the past. They all served well until their deaths. My first complaint: Makita decided to go from a 5/8* shank to a 7/8" shank. The larger the shank, the larger the drive and locking wheels, making the tool bulky and less manoeuvrable.
