Awesome Telescopic Tabletop Stand

I have bought several of these stands for my Manfrotto metal tripods. I mainly use them as microphone stands for podcasts. They are much more comfortable to carry than real desktop mic stands and hold up very well.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Only available in black

Works great with Manfrotto 209 and 492 and 494 heads

Sometimes you just need a little more height to mount the camera on the side (portrait) and it helps. I often carry it in my bag on hikes etc to get the perfect shot, particularly useful for HDR work.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • Long time

Does not work with Manfrotto 709B table tripod

Very sturdy, well built, feels a bit heavy. I ordered this extension to use with the Manfrotto 709B tabletop tripod but was disappointed when I couldn't get it to work. This extension is actually designed to be used with the 209 detachable head tripod. The 709B head cannot be removed (without disassembling the entire tripod). There doesn't seem to be a way to extend my 709B tripod.

Manfroto: Why don't you include the necessary adapters for 1/4”?

This item fits 3/8" on both ends. This is a small tabletop tripod and they are all 1/4". But Manfroto also uses 3/8 for a small tripod, as opposed to to all others. Since this is a separate part, it should include 1/4" adapters on both ends, but unfortunately there aren't any. And for the bottom end, you'll need one with a "collar" so it doesn't screw in and get lost in the cavity. I only bought it because I lost it as part of a small Manfroto table tripod. It's quite heavy, 95 grams. If you…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Safety

This extension only comes with 3/8" threaded connections on each end, not advertised as such. This really annoyed me because before I could attach the extension to my table tripod and the camera to the top of the extension, I had to spend another $12 on parts, a 3/8-1/4 female adapter on one end and A 3/ 8-1/4 adapter to the other end to make this extension work. These adapters are not sold separately on Amazon, but are available in packs of 2 and 6. Manfroto sells these extensions with 1/4"…

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Bad Impression

Well done; it is durable and lightweight. It has a telescoping section that allows it to grow to around 10 inches in length. I have to admit that to lengthen the telescopic section for the first time I had to carefully unscrew the collar with a vise while holding the case with another pair of pliers; it was quite tight (probably the lubricating oil had settled in it). Use with the Manfrotto 209 Headless Table Tripod - replaces the 3007, not the Manfrotto 709B Digi Ball Head Table Tripod. I'm…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No car
