Amazing for its purpose

I'm a hobbyist so take it for what it is. I bought this with 055XPROB. Please note that you will need a 90cm bag for this combination. The possibilities here are endless. With this combination of head and legs, I can position the camera in almost any position imaginable. I will say the QR is secure but also a little annoying when removed. The adjustable grip tension is perfect for balancing the lens/camera combo, but it's not easy to switch quickly when you have multiple cameras/lenses. There's

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

If you shoot mainly in landscape mode (not sideways) then this head is perfect. It features the traditional Bogan/Manfrotto quick release plate system with a new lever and latch. Grasp the handle and squeeze the lever to release the latch so you can rotate the camera. There's a friction setting that controls how strong the twist is when pressed (I leave it completely off). To control the loosening of the handle there is a small strap that can be attached to the handle. I do not use it. The…

Good product. on tripods and monopods

This is a good product. If you had nothing to compare, you would probably agree; However, Manfrotto makes the best product. 322. Yes, you have to pack an extra half a pound, and yes, it's $10 more or so, but 322 is way SMOOTER (not even close. I mean, not even close to 324) but also way more durable if the trigger is released. This product, the 324, is small, compact, lightweight and gets the job done for most photographers who don't have to constantly pan horizontally or rotate vertically to…

Closest to the perfect photography ball head I've found.

This is the most perfect photography ball head I have ever found. For me the main problems it solves are ease of use, compact weight and reliability. What annoys me the most about most ball heads is that every time I adjust the head properly, tightening the locking mechanism causes the head to move. If they moved the same every time, I could at least compensate for that, but that doesn't happen; Movement is always random and unpredictable. With this head, when I let go of the lever, the head…

Great but quality issues

The first Manfrotto 324RC2 joystick head I received had a small problem - one of the screws that attached the camera platform to the joystick was missing. Because the camera stage was held by only one screw instead of two, it was impossible to be sure the camera was properly attached. I almost kept my head but figured it would take too long to find specialty fasteners and selling individual screws is annoying for industrial parts suppliers who typically require minimal purchasing. I would have…
